The WhiteKNIGHT® hydrocarbon sensor detects hazardous, dangerous,
damaging and harmful hydrocarbon based chemicals. It detect petroleum based products that may be present either alone or floating on water. As little as one-tenth inch (1/10th") of contaminant can be detected. This satisfies requirements of both state and federal EPA mandates.
The sensor functions as a distributed sensor. It is a "belt" type sensor that can
take odd shapes and it detects hydrocarbon liquid anywhere along its length. The resistance will change from approximately 540k-ohms to an open within minutes of detection.
The sensor is completely self-restoring once the condition has been mediated.
It requires no periodic calibration. And as to the number of alarm cycles, it has an unlimited alarm life. This is an "install it and forget it" sensor.
The WhiteKNIGHT® can be used above or below ground to detect the
presence of hydrocarbons. This includes virtually any petroleum based or carbon based liquids like most Esters, higher Alcohols, Organic Acids, and Chlorinated Hydrocarbons. This is the ideal around diesel and fuel storage areas and generation facilities especially near water where spillage can cause environmental damage to water for drinking, farming and bathing.
The WhiteKNIGHT® is a low maintenance highly reliable way to monitor
potential environmental hazards at or near production or storage. It helps ensure that any breakout, leaks or seepage will be alarmed, reported and repaired before costly damage to property and people occur. Consider it for these applications: airport runway run off, pipelines, fuel dump and loading areas, diesel storage for remote power generators, transfer stations, military fleet storage.
Connecting the WhiteKNIGHT® to a TX remote monitoring system provides
the most effective protection from hydrocarbon intrusion at the lowest cost of ownership. It also gives you the ability to monitor many remote facilities over very long distances.
