The Open Monitor Interface enables the WHITEKnight® Hydrocarbon Sensor
for use with all monitoring systems. The interface provides is battery powered
for remote use and provides simple user settings for sensor alarm and battery
alarm.

Sensor Alarm -
Normally Open/ Normally Closed choice using jumper J1. User may select to
have the sensor alarm to its attached monitor in either Normally Open/NClosed
with this jumper. Factory Set at Normally Closed.

Battery Life Warning Alarm -
Choice using jumper J4. The battery alarm will activate when it is
approximately 30 days from failure. User may select to have the battery alarm
to its attached monitor in either Normally Open/NClosed with this jumper.
Factory Set at Normally Closed.

Battery Power -
The unit is supplied with a lithium 3.6V operational battery and a lithium 3.6V
spare battery. These two (2) batteries sit side by side inside the housing and
only one (the operational battery) is powering the monitor interface.

Battery Swap -
When the Battery Life Warning Alarm is received the user should remove the
operational battery and replace it with the spare battery as soon as possible.
Call 800/225-0160 to order replacement lithium 3.6V battery PN: 164B002-00.

Battery Life -
Operational battery life varies by conditions. Expect 2.5+ years from a fresh
operational battery for this application. It is recommended that a fresh spare
battery be stored next to the operational battery so it is at the ready to replace a
depleted cell. Lithium batteries typically have a long shelf life upwards of 5 to
10 years. Battery Operating Temperature Range: -50°C to +85°C.

Interface Test -
User can test the monitor interface for proper operation using the two pins in
the TEST area on the board inside the housing. When the two TEST pins are
shorted the unit sends an alarm.

User Outboard Test Options -
The two (2) interface TEST pins may be brought outside the housing to support
many other methods of testing the interface. They can be connected to a
monitoring system for periodic or automatic testing. They can be connected to
a simple test button on the outside of the housing for manual testing.

User External Power Option -
Two (2) pins (+ -) are provided for connecting outboard external power to the
interface. When external 3.6V is supplied and an operational battery is also
properly installed, the external supply has precedence and will power the unit. If
the outboard power fails, or falls below 3.6V, the battery will assume
precedence to power the interface.
